About this project

For this year’s edition of The Loft – an inspiring interior design event – we were asked to build a kitchen for a fictional character named Miss Bare. We decided to bring kitchen design back to its very essence and came up with an equally bare look – clean, solid and straightforward.

We constructed a 26 feet long walnut counter and mounted it with an Emperador Dark marble worktop. This brown tinted spanish marble shows a wide variety of swirls and veins, bringing contrast to the kitchen’s overall clear-cut lines.

We installed a Gaggenau cooktop with field extraction and concealed all other equipment within the cabinets. This kitchen features many subtle details of workmanship, such as the dovetail joints on the cabinet hulls. The sunken fronts emphasize its handcrafted character.
